F.R.O.G. Soap is an environmentally active soap making outfit in the Great Pacific Northwest. Situated on the shores of the beautiful Puget Sound in Kitsap County, WA, we make all of our earth-friendly soap by hand; on site.
Combining the studies of Fine Arts and Environmental Science, our founder devised a process of reclaiming 'used veggie oil' a.k.a. fryer oil better known as Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO) to make rich, creamy cold process soap. In less than 3 years, we have reclaimed over 4 tons of WVO, corrugated cardboard and junk mail (coupon inserts and such) in the making, shipping and presentation of our beautiful soap.
We reclaim wood from shipping pallets that have been kicked to the curb, to make our soap molds, curing racks and soap decks. We shred junk mail along with the top layer we strip from corrugated cardboard, to use as packing and the colorful 'fluff' to showcase our products in our gift baskets.
We support our local community by donating gift baskets for auction, food banks, women's shelters, and the homeless. We work in tandem with neighboring businesses to support our local schools, churches, events and festivals.
We hold workshops to show folks how we make our cold process soap, as well as how to reclaim oils produced in the home kitchen, e.g. bacon grease and tallow. Why pour grease down the drain or send it off to landfill, when it can be turned into beautiful soap? Waste not, want not and be kind to this grand planet on which we make our homes.
