Recently, several of my friends have endured or are living with Shingles, an itchy and painful condition, that causes folks to use most colorful words while enduring said condition.
Anyone who has ever had chickenpox can develop shingles. Most adults in the United States had chickenpox when they were children, before the advent of the routine childhood vaccination that now protects against chickenpox.
Interestingly enough, I have never had Chicken Pox or any of the usual childhood maladies, so odds are very high I will not get Shingles. I am unusual in many ways and this is just another oddity about me.
Question: Have you had Chicken Pox, or are you immune, as I am? This is not an idle question, please do check in. I'm finding this most interesting.
To learn more about Shingles and what to do to deter them or treat them, head on over to the Mayo Clinic's website where you will find a plethora of information.
